My name is Nicole Bailey. I was born, raised and still reside in Pasadena, MD with my wonderful husband Josh, my dobes, a cat and some fish. I have been into dogs in one way or another since birth, although I never trained a dog for competition until I got Mojo. I have wanted a doberman since I was about 5 years old. I just identified so strongly with their look and personality. Alas, I was never allowed to bring one home. My father always told me when I lived in my own house I could have any dog I wanted. So, when I moved out the first thing I did was find a good breeder and reserve a puppy out of her next litter. That breeder was Carole Bohanan-Uhler of Destiny Dobermans. Boy was I lucky to stumble across her! She gave me my Mojo in 2002 and my world hasn't been the same since!
Mojo is a willful boy and needed some training. I again, was lucky enough to happen across the greatest place for us, Kinder-Pup, Inc. Mojo and I learned the basics, moved on to advanced, but still I wanted more. There was an agility club associated with KP called PAWZAZZ. I watched these dogs do these amazing things. I thought "There's no way I can teach him to do that!" But we entered the Intro Agility Class and 7 years and many trials later, it's safe to say we got HOOKED! Once I got to see the smiles on their faces I knew this was the sport for us.
Since getting Mojo and then bringing Luxx home 2 years later I have learned a huge amount about Dobermans, agility, obedience and just general dog behavior. It's just the tip of the iceberg. I love to learn, and spend as much time as I can taking in new info, new training techniques and generally just broadening my horizons. I am proud to have two great teammates to help me along the way in Mojo and Luxx. They are fantastic dogs and in spite of me have achieved some great things! They are both titled in AKC obedience, Rally and Agility, USDAA agility, and NADAC agility with over 40 NATCHES and some Championships placements between them.
I look forward to seeing what my new puppy Jinn has to teach me as we are just beginning our journey together.
